![]() eva pepin-helie I am 23 years old and I started to climb seriously after high school in 2002. With this discovery, a new life started.
Climbing is really important in my life and for me it is so nice to share this passion with my friends. I put a lot of energy in this sport to improve my performance and I always try to push myself as much as possible. During each winter, to stay in a good shape and have more fun, I'm doing some competition through the Canada (routes and bouldering). I started to do some competitions back in 2006 and I did really good performances like finishing first a few times and a lot of podiums. In 2006-2007, I came fourth in the National Bouldering Team and last year I was invited to go to the World Cup in Vail, Colorado (June 2008). Unfortunately, I injured my finger late that spring and I did not go at this comp. Last year, during the fall, I decided to take one semester off to spend my time only for climbing. I went to the west coast of Canada and USA (Oregon, Utah, and Texas). It was just awesome, the real life! It was the first time that I spent so much time climbing outside, on real rock! I could see a really good progression in my climbing and I am really stoked about all my accomplishments I did on the rock. I climbed a couple of beautiful 5.13b and some V7 during this trip! I like traveling, meet new cultures and new people. So far, I went to France (Ceuse, Cassis, Fontainbleau), Italiy (Finale Ligure), Mexico (El Potrero Chico), USA (Rumney, Red River Gorge, Utah, Oregon, Texas) and west coast of Canada (Canmore, Banff, Squamish). I also like to climb in my home province (Quebec) at crags like Lac-Long, Kamouraska and Val-David. I am going to graduate this next semester in << Intervention Sportive >> to work as a climbing coach, to develop the climbing sport in Canada, and to be a collegial teacher. I am really motivated for what the future holds and I psyched to do others road trip when school off! MORE ABOUT EVA PEPIN-HELIE ![]() photos << >> |
