I recently went down to Hueco on a climbing trip with Jason Holowach and Sean Gallop, both from Saskatoon. They picked me up in El paso and I climbed with them for 4 days. While I stayed there camping, they drove home. During my 8 straight days of climbing, with a half day rest on January first, I accomplished more Bouldering than I’ve ever done before.
In those 8 days, I climbed 5 v12’s, 5 v11’s, and flashed multiple v10’s.
During my entire stay, I only climbed on North Mountain. If you don’t already know, Hueco is split into 3 different Climbing areas, North, East, and West. To date this has been one of most fun climbing trips.

After placing first in the Junior Boys category at Junior Nationals in Saskatoon, Jason Holowach brought me up to Nels and Nevon's farm. The farm was quite an experience, being a city boy like myself. I'd wake up in the morning to be told the list of things we were going to do that day, including fixing the climbing wall all the way to mowing the grass. After several hours of work, we put up hundreds of holds on the wall. Shortly after that we had a good climbing session with the gang. The gang included, Seth, Zoe, Nels, Nevon, Jason, Sean, and me. At around midnight, we started to play Halo 2 and that usually lasted for at least a couple of hours before going to bed. The next day, we woke up and cleared some trees on their land in hopes of building a fence. After that, we suited up in paintball gear and drove out to another farm, which was better suited for paintballing. We enjoyed a few hours of paintballing going through 1000 rounds. The next day's night was quite eventful, we had a gigantic hill billy bon fire. We stacked up hay bails, with sticks around it, almost 6 feet high, douced it in gasoline and shot roman candles at it to light it. The fire lasted several hours before we retired to bed. At the farm, i also learned how to ride a motorcycle, a unicycle, and a lawn mower. After we went home from the farm, Jay and I decided to drive up to his cabin for the weekend at Lac La Ronge. On the two days that we were there, we went fishing where i caught my first fish. We went canoeing, swimming, snorkeling and wakeboarding. We also drove this little motor bike up to a landfill area with sand and set up a time trial course. In overall i had such a fun week in saskatoon on a farm and at Lac La Ronge.
